Social Video Integration for Social Post Scheduler - 2/11/25

We have enhanced our Social Post Schedule and social workflows to support video uploads. This update empowers users to share videos on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram (if approved) directly through our platform. High-performing video content can now be shared on social media while streamlining compliance review processes. Find additional information here.

Common Questions: 

What is the process for uploading a video to a social post? Customers can upload a video directly from the Social Post Scheduler on our platform.

What video formatting can currently be uploaded? The formats available for upload are MP4 and MOV. 

Is video upload supported for social posts on the FMG Mobile App? Currently, video uploads from the Mobile App are not supported.

Can a video be uploaded and posted as an “FMG video” (Web Content) on social media? No, Web Content videos can only be shared as a link to social media. It is not possible to upload these videos and share them on social media.

How does this affect the video posts from Social Foundations and the Monthly Market Insights automated campaign? The social media video upload tool will not impact automated marketing campaigns.

Will the videos uploaded for social media posts be archived? Yes, the social videos will be archived. While FMG is not a social media monitoring service, we do archive social media content, such as social videos, just as we archive other types of content.

Will agency-created social posts support videos? Not at this time.


Instagram Integration - 2/11/25

For firms allowing advisors to use Instagram for social media, we have an exciting update for you! FMG has added Instagram as an available social media integration to the FMG platform. The integration allows advisors to now integrate their Creator or Business Instagram accounts with FMG and share social media content directly from our platform. This content will be shared on Instagram as posts — not Stories or Reels. By default, Instagram integration will be enabled for your Broker Dealer, but you can opt-out by contacting home office support.

This integration works similarly to our current social media integrations and compliance workflow. Compliance can approve or reject Instagram posts, just as they do for Facebook and LinkedIn. Enterprises can activate the "Compliance Review for Social Media Posts" option in their compliance settings. Here's a helpful article that covers additional information. Advisors can integrate their Instagram accounts simply by going to Social > Manage Social Media in their FMG dashboard, clicking ‘Connect Instagram,’ and following the prompts.

Common Questions: 

Can users post videos (Reels) on Instagram? Not currently, but we plan to add this feature in the future.

What kind of posts can advisors share? Advisors can share custom social posts and agency-created social posts, although social sequences are not supported at this time. Our platform does not currently support video posting on social media and will not be added with this update. However, we expect to add this feature in a future update. 

Can users share social sequences on Instagram? No, but we are working on it.

Is there a character limit? Yes, the character limit for captions is 2,200 characters, and advisors can view scheduled Instagram content in the 'Shared & Scheduled' grid.

Do additional advisor accounts get the integration? Yes, if the parent account has it.
How many images can users post? Up to 9 images.

Are URLs within the post copy clickable once posted? No, URLs in posts are not clickable.

What is the image size requirement? Instagram posts require an image and support multiple aspect ratios, including Square (1:1), Portrait (4:5), and Landscape (16:9).

Can users schedule posts via the FMG Mobile App? Yes, after integrating through the desktop site.

Are Carousels supported? Yes, you can post multiple images in a single post.


New Feature: Profile-Specific Social Posts - 4/1/2025

With our latest feature release, FMG subscribers who have access to create custom social posts can now select specific social profiles for sharing content instead of being limited to posting on all integrated profiles of a particular network. The update provides greater control over content distribution and prevents scheduling to inactive integrations. It’s particularly beneficial for users managing multiple social media profiles, such as two LinkedIn pages, as it enables them to tailor content for each audience. Please note that the feature is not available for automations, blog post shares, and unedited web content. This feature is now available for social posts and FMG's Mobile App and social sequences as of May 6th.

Common Questions: 

Can users set default profiles for all future posts? No, users must select profiles for each individual post or sequence; it is not a saved global setting.

Is this feature available on the FMG Mobile App? Yes, it is now available on the Mobile App.

Does this feature work for library shares, too? If they edit the library content, then yes, they can choose the specific social media profile. However, if they just share the content "as-is," then they will not have the option to specify a social profile.

Does this feature work for Instagram posts? Yes, now that the Instagram integration is available.

Can I select specific LinkedIn Pages for my posts? Yes, you can choose which LinkedIn Pages to post to for each individual post or sequence.

What happens if a profile is inactive? The system will prevent scheduling posts to inactive profiles, ensuring expected content sharing.
